When Kathleen Peets set out to improve her course, she saw not only the chance to make the course more inclusive, but an opportunity to reimagine how students engaged with learning.
With the support of a Learning and Teaching Grant (LTG) and a team of digital learning experts, she created an open-access, interactive textbook designed to be dynamic, inclusive, and reflective of diverse perspectives.
Moving beyond traditional static textbooks, Kathleen applied an anthropological lens to the text and integrated interactive features to amplify student voices and experiences, foster engagement, and make learning more accessible.
The result was not just a teaching tool but a shift in Kathleen’s approach to the course that fundamentally impacted her teaching and her student’s learning.
