David Naylor didn’t want his students to fall behind in the remote classroom.
So, instead of depending on a midterm and exam to test students’ knowledge, he and his colleagues introduced shorter, more frequent quizzing based on each chapter. This helped students stay on track.
In creating the online quizzes, they also developed new approaches to questions that required long written solutions, as well as a rich question bank that they can use for years to come.
David also started recording video demonstrations, mostly using common household items to demonstrate key concepts. In doing so, he has produced a library of videos he can share with his students even after the pandemic.
