Hossein Noyan

All Stories, Building Community, Faculty: Science, Remote Teaching

Dr. Hossein Noyan, Assistant Professor Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry & Biology

Course: BLG 143 – Biology I

Strategy: Student-instructor dialogue

For Hossein Noyan, the key to a successful remote learning experience is developing clear communication between teacher and student.

To establish proper dialogue, structure and an appropriate means of communication are essential.

With virtual learning, misunderstandings are bound to happen, so Hossein provided clear expectations in a way that was understandable to every type of student. He also provided a variety of opportunities for his students to connect with him throughout the course.

Although teaching online is not always easy, Hossein appreciates when his students see the passion and dedication professors have for their students’ learning.
